"Viva Long Beach Casino Night" is planned on April 11 from 6 to 10:30 p.m. in the LBCC College Center at the LAC.

LBCC Foundation and the Financial Aid Department are sponsoring the event. Tickets are $25 per person and it includes $100 in chips with a pasta and dessert bar. Only people 21 and over may attend.

"Viva" has provided entertainment to board members, employees and students for more than six years. The proceeds go to the Buy-A-Book Fund that helps students without financial aid receive a one-time grant to purchase books the first few weeks of the semester.

"This is a fun event and all proceeds benefit LBCC students," Financial Aid adviser Dorothy Gutierrez said.

Guests are treated to a pasta and dessert bar prepared and served by LBCC culinary arts students under the supervision of Chef Romain Bertein.

Donations are appreciated and may include gift baskets, gift certificates or homemade items such as jewelry or quilts. To order tickets, people may stop by the Financial Aid office or contact Gutierrez at 938-4055.
